You do not need completed drawings before talking with us about a model. Early involvement gives us a chance to understand the purpose, discuss a budget and coordinate the model with the design schedule.
Share the material you have
Drawings, photographs, renderings and 3D files can be a big help in understanding your vision. We can also begin with sketches and a conversation about what the model should show.
Plan for design changes
As drawings develop, we will clarify details together. Changes after fabrication starts can affect the model, its cost and its schedule, so it helps to discuss likely revisions early and keep communication open throughout the work.
What to settle before fabrication
The first conversation can cover the audience, display space, presentation date and features the model needs to show. Those choices help us recommend a size and level of detail without assuming the design is finished. A simple study model and a detailed sales-center piece ask for different amounts of information.
The Buena Vista proposal model used movable building blocks so presenters could rearrange the design. At The Current, we worked with the marketing team, architects and RV designer while the plans developed. These are different ways of fitting the model to the design stage.
Before making components, discuss which parts are settled and which may be revised. Keep new drawings and decisions coordinated with the build so a change in the design does not arrive after that part has been fabricated. Our production process and schedule guide cover the next steps.
