ENERGY AND NUCLEAR MODELS

Energy and nuclear models

Archetype3D builds custom physical scale models of energy technology and facilities, from nuclear microreactors to solar installations, at our shop in Denver, Colorado. An energy model helps investors, regulators, customers and communities understand a system that is often too large, too new or too secure to see in person.

Energy model projects

Westinghouse eVinci Microreactor: a cutaway engineering model with color-separated internal components, built from Westinghouse reference images and design information.

SunPower: an industrial and architectural model project. See the project page for the published project details.

Micron Waste Technologies: a physical model of waste-processing technology; see the project page for its published description.

Why energy companies use physical models

New energy technology, especially advanced nuclear, depends on public understanding and investor confidence. A cutaway model shows what is inside a reactor or system and how it works, at a scale people can examine at a trade show, hearing or community meeting. Site models show how a facility fits its land and neighbors.

Planning an energy model

Share the system’s purpose, audience, display setting and information cleared for use. We can plan removable panels, cutaways, lighting and a travel case around the presentation. See industrial and engineering models and how model costs are estimated.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Common questions

Who builds nuclear and microreactor scale models?

Archetype3D builds custom physical models of nuclear microreactors and other energy systems in Denver, Colorado. Projects include the Westinghouse eVinci microreactor.

Can a model show the inside of a reactor or system?

Yes. Cutaway sections, removable panels and lighting can show internal components and how they work together.

Are energy models built to travel to trade shows?

Yes. We plan models for travel with durable parts, protective packing and practical setup.

How much does an energy model cost?

Archetype3D models range from about $5,000 to $150,000, depending mainly on complexity, detail, cutaways and lighting.
