Shipping and transporting scale models

Plan the journey with the model
We ship physical scale models to clients worldwide. The packing and transport plan should reflect the model’s size, materials, destination and how often it will travel.
Protect the details
We coordinate packaging and shipment with logistics providers experienced in delicate items. Shipping insurance and handling arrangements are part of the discussion. Some projects also call for personal delivery and on-site installation.
Models that travel more than once
If a model will be used at trade shows or meetings, let us know early. Travel cases, removable components and setup arrangements can be considered as part of the model design.
Fixed displays and traveling models
Packing is part of the design conversation, especially for a large piece or a display that travels repeatedly. The Powder Mountain model was built in sections for transport and on-site assembly. For SunPower, two solar-structure models came apart for assembly at the show.
Protective travel cases served the ATM demonstration models, which also had removable panels and interchangeable options. The packing plan needs to account for those separate parts as well as the finished model. Tell us whether your team will set it up at each destination and how often it will move.
For a permanent installation, discuss the destination, access and any on-site assembly before finalizing the model’s dimensions. A table or protective cover belongs in that conversation too. Share the display location and delivery date along with the source drawings; we can discuss the appropriate packing, logistics and installation arrangements.
Let’s talk about your project.
Share what the model needs to show and who it’s for, and we’ll help you think through scale, details and next steps.
